Dress Code
Uniform Dress Code
It is our belief that good dress and work habits reflect a proper school attitude. Students are required to be in proper dress code during school hours and on field trips unless otherwise notified. Students who do not comply with the dress code will face consequences set by our school discipline policy.
Uniform Assistance
Various programs are available for those needing assistance with uniform purchases by contacting the office at (219) 939-9690.
Guidelines:
Girls:
Navy, Khaki, or Black uniform pants, skirts, shorts or jumpers
Leggings or tights must be black, white, navy
Navy, Light Blue, or black polo shirts
College T-shirts/ CSD spirit wear- Fridays only with uniform pants, skirts, shorts, or jumpers
Shirts worn under uniform shirts must be navy, gray, white, or black
Navy or light blue sweaters
Hoodies may be worn if solid colors: Navy, Light Blue, or Black. There is no writing or graphics allowed.
Boys:

Any basic style shoe
**LED shoes, light-up shoes, heely rollers, sandals, flip-flops, or open toe shoes are NOT ALLOWED
Prohibited Items:
sunglasses
sandals or flip flops
tank tops or tight fitting tops
sleeveless shirts
jeans (except for designated jeans day)
large hoop or dangling earrings (for safety reasons)
visible body piercing including Band-Aids covering piercings
rollers/curlers
sagging pants
hanging belts
visible tattoos
jackets
hair glitter/body glitter
excessive makeup
key cords
hanging suspenders
combs or picks
shorts (non-uniform)
ripped pants..
hats or other head coverings, including sweatbands and handkerchiefs
gang affiliation
non-prescription glasses
ripped, holes, tears, etc. in pants
Students are expected to be dressed and groomed in a manner which will not be disruptive to the educational process, constitute a health or safety hazard or violate civil law. All shirts are to be worn inside the pants, skirts, or skorts at all times.
**Final determination of appropriateness of student dress and measures taken to enforce the policy will be made by School Administration**
Uniform clothing may be purchased at the following stores:
Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, This Is It, Dennis Uniform, JCPenney, or on the school website.
Spirit Dress
Students who participate in Spirit Day may wear jeans with any CSD apparel top.
Dress Down
Students may be awarded dress down tickets throughout the school year. It is our expectation that when students dress down they must still maintain appropriate attire. Students should not wear:
rips, tears or holes in their jeans or pants
jeggings or leggings
short shorts
jogging pants
tops or bottoms with drug, gang or alcohol references
